About Us

Equity, diversity and inclusion work can feel daunting, and bringing a new partner into your organisation even more so. That’s why finding the right collaborator is key. Sometimes you need a safe pair of hands to deliver to your senior teams, at other times it’s a critical friend to offer challenge, external insight and an alternative approach. At RiverRoad, we want our clients to feel excited about the work of EDI, to know that it’s adding value and to love working with us as much as we love working with them.

I am Antoinette Willcocks, Founder and Chief Consultant at RiverRoad.

I worked for over 13 years in public relations and crisis management before embarking on a career in EDI in late 2019. The years that followed demonstrated the need for EDI professionals with strategic communications experience, the skill to confront and unpick challenging topics, and the ability to build genuine and trusting relationships with people regardless of background, job role or EDI fluency.

In founding RiverRoad, I wanted to create an EDI consultancy that brings fresh ideas, great energy and the market-leading knowledge and expertise to embed meaningful and sustainable change into a business.

Before RiverRoad I’d spent most of my career in very large, complex and challenging (in a good way!) businesses. This includes nearly eight years at magic circle law firm, Allen & Overy, and a global role at international law firm Norton Rose Fulbright. Most recently I stepped into the role of Director, and Head of EDI at market-leading PR agency FleishmanHillard where I created the EDI strategy that went on to define the RiverRoad approach – equity driving inclusion for all.

Antoinette was an absolute pleasure to work with. She carefully put together a programme on inclusive language and micro aggressions for our staff body. The training in opened up a powerful dialogue, with many conversations extending outside of the training.

The session was extremely informative, and revealing. Antoinette was knowledgeable, relatable and thorough. I left feeling enlightened and generally more aware. There are many takeaways from the session which I will be mindful of and applying in my daily interactions.
